Lunch at Linda's
Christmas Day- Lunch... another of Luke's favorite meals of the year. I don't know how this tradition started, but it's been going on for years. Lunch consists of beefburgers and french fries... real FRIED french fries. The ladies bring out the fryers and fry up batches and batches of them. We all smell like grease by the end of the day, but boy are they good!! So good, in fact, there have been phone calls placed to relatives who weren't in attendance bragging about what we are eating! :) This year, cousin Ben took the meal to new levels by pouring the baked beans over his beefburger!
Boaz enjoyed playing with all the kids. Here is Gpa Bartlett, Boaz, Bailey, Ayla, & Jason doing puzzles.
Dave & Linda have a toy closet off the dining room that houses all the amazing toys! If we couldn't find Boaz, this is where he was!

Christmas Morning...
So, I forgot to take a picture of the boys all dressed up on Christmas Eve. Bummer! We attempted to take both boys with us to the Christmas Eve service. Boaz did pretty well- he enjoyed the music a lot. But we decided that if we really wanted to pay attention to the talking, Boaz should be in the nursery. :) Thanks to the Eilderts for sitting behind us and entertaining him a bit! Our apologies to anyone around us who wasn't so entertained...
Here are some snapshots and videos of Christmas morning at our house. It was pretty neat that Boaz understood what was going on this year! Here he is digging into his stocking...
He carried around this apple all morning... it was his favorite!
Here are he and daddy with the oranges they got in their stockings. Guess the fruit was a hit this year!!
He's been into Mickey Mouse lately. He got little Mickey & Donald figurines... here he is discovering Donald.
He got really good at opening presents this year! Tearing the paper was so much fun!
This was the 'big' present of the year for Boaz...

And Cainan wishes you all a Merry Christmas, too!

Christmas cookies
Boaz loves to be in the kitchen with me any chance he can get. If I even get a bowl out on the counter, he runs to the dining room table to grab the big chair and push it to the counter. "Cookin! Cookin!" So, I decided that we'd do a little bit of Christmas cookin' for the neighbors this year. Boaz helped put these cookies in a container with daddy.
Then he helped put the snowman cookies on the pan. (Yes, I cheated and bought my sugar cookie dough and these cute ones with snowmen designs)
I wanted to see if Boaz could help frost cookies, so I gave him his own supplies. Of course the first thing he did before I could explain anything was take a giant bite out of the cookie! Here he is making a go of frosting...
And frosting didn't last long... it quickly turned into eating!
Lately he likes his hands to be clean while he's eating and often requests a washcloth.
And now, we've created a cookie monster. We really don't ever have cookies in the house- and now that he figured out that we do, he constantly requests cookies.... for breakfast, for dinner, and every hour inbetween! So far we've gotten away with eating one a day.
It was pretty nice on Saturday, so we made up some plates and Boaz helped me deliver them to the neighbors. Boaz greeted each neighbor by yelling "Merry Kisses!" as we handed them the goodies. He was sad that we were giving the cookies away, but we had a good talk about sharing and being nice to our friends- then he was excited to share. It was a fun way to spend a morning- we love Cookin!

What day is it??
Have any of you moms out there asked that question before? I feel like life is a blur lately, and a lot of times and I don't even know what day it is!! Maybe it's the lack of sleep piling up, or maybe it's chasing after a toddler that's zapping my brain. Whatever it is, I now have pictures to prove that I'm losing it!
Last week, Cainan turned two months old!! Time is flying by. Last Saturday night, I told Luke not to let me forget to take his two month pictures the next day. Here is a picture that I actually remembered to take of him last Sunday- when he turned two months old.
However, I realized a couple of days later that I had my days all mixed up. Sunday was the 13th... and Cainan was born on the 16th! So- here is a picture of him when he actually turned two months old! I felt so silly that I couldn't even keep my days straight anymore. But- I'd rather capture the moment twice than not at all!
This picture is for you, Luke! It's the first Aldi fudge striped cookie that Boaz ever tried. He definitely liked it. These are a staple for Luke... I'm hoping they won't be for Boaz quite yet. :)
Cainan usually has one long stint in the swing a day. He loves to stare at the bears hanging above him. He's content to sit and swing while Boaz tears around the living room.
And here's something I'm soooo excited about! Our newly organized basement! My friend Katie saw that Ikea had free shipping on orders over $500 on cyber Monday. So several of us pooled our orders together and I finally got the cube shelves I've wanted for a couple years! I am so thrilled to have a place to put all of the toys! And Boaz thinks it's really fun to put things on the new shelves... hope that lasts!

Dear Blake & Brenna...
Dear Blake & Brenna,
Thank you so much for the playdoh you gave me for Christmas. I like it so much. Here is a video of when we first played with it on Sunday. "Oh my goodness!" I was very excited about the animals that grow hair! I had so much fun playing with you and our other cousins at Grandma & Grandpa Glace's house. Have a merry Christmas. Love, Boaz (and Cainan)

Glace Family Christmas
12/12/09 - We headed to Eldora this past weekend to celebrate Christmas with my family. Here are Grandma & Grandpa with all the grandkids... they made for a lively bunch!! It's so fun to watch them play together.
Our family in front of Mom's Christmas tree.
Funny story.... Greg took our camera while we were sitting around the living room and took a bunch of pictures of Nolan. I totally forgot they were all on there until I downloaded everything tonight. This was the only normal picture of him- the rest were all 'creative' shots of his hand, his feet, etc. I laughed so hard at Greg's photographic eye. Thanks for the laugh, Greg! :)
Boaz was so excited about all his presents. In this picture he was literally hitting his head saying 'oh my!' while daddy was getting the trucks out of the box. It was hilarious.
This bulldozer moves up and down and makes noises. He's carried this around the house the last few days. He loves to press the button and watch it go.
Grandma showing Boaz how the bulldozer works...
Grandma & Grandpa Glace have given each family a kid's table to have in our homes. This year was our year to receive one. We had a kids table set growing up and I remember all the hours my sisters and I spent doing projects on it. Cainan got this awesome set from them and I predict hours and hours of fun on it in the years to come for our family. Thanks, mom & dad!
Boaz LOVES music. He is really into horns these days... tumpents, tubas, tombones, etc. He received this 'tumpent' (recorder) and was in heaven. He likes to play it loud. I decided that it is going to be a special toy we keep in the basement instead of upstairs!! :) Cainan can't quite get used to Boaz's loud 'music.'

Cainan decided to add some excitement to the evening as well. While we were opening presents, Luke was holding him on his lap. We heard some rumbling in Cainan's pants, but decided to let him sit a minute to be sure he was finished. I grabbed him from Luke and immediately noticed Cainan's socks were yellow... and so was the front of Luke's jeans, Cainan's pants, the back of Luke's jeans, the carpet, etc. It was an amazing site. Thankfully Grandma Glace was there to help with the cleanup! I'm not really sure how poop got on the back of luke's pants, but I guess that just proves how powerful this blow-out was! Nice work, Cainan!

Cainan's first smiles...
Cainan chose Thanksgiving Day to give me his very first smile. He'd been up in the middle of the night before screaming for 3 hours, so I think he knew I needed a little encouragement early that morning. That first smile is always such a precious moment... melts my heart. I've spent the last few days trying to capture his sweet little grin and finally got a few good shots for you. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Cainan 6 weeks/ fall family photos
11/22/09- We were lucky enough to have our friend, Bailey King, take our pictures! I asked her to take some 6 week photos of Cainan and she asked if we'd want some family pictures done also. We have never had a family picture taken, so we dove in!! We had such a good time taking these. Bailey is just starting up her own photography business... you can check out her website here.
There will be a lot of pictures on this post, but there are just too many good ones to choose from!
This was my favorite picture of Boaz from the day. Doesn't he look so grown up??
