Weekend

2/19- Cainan is our climber.  He's figured out how to move things around the house to get what he needs.  Sometimes this is a good thing... sometimes it's really bad.  I have a feeling that we may have a few emergency room visits with this little guy!

Today Dad got to get off work a little early to take us all to the UNI basketball game!  It was a 6pm start, so we were able to take the boys.  We sure do love cheering for our Panthers!
And we sure do love picnic dinners to keep the kids sitting still for an extra 1/2 hour!!  :)

2/20- Today we had a really weird hail storm.  The neighborhood was covered in pea-sized ice chunks.  No damage here... just rivers of ice pellets everywhere!

The boys had fun playing in it when they woke up from their naps.

Youth Pavillion

2/17- We finally made it to the Youth Pavillion today!  We met up with lots of little friends for the morning and it was a blast!  Checked it out on a Dollar Day- which made it even better!  I think we'll have to frequent this place more next winter.  The boys enjoyed digging and burying food in this garden...

Hanging out in the fishing boat... Cainan spent a lot of time here.  Mostly because he liked it, and a little bit because it kept him contained!!  :)

The padded little kids' area-
Peeking out the windows of the house/store...
Boaz selling vegetables to anyone who would buy them!   (he's definitely our little entrepreneur)
Putting on a puppet show-

Checking out the Japan room... doesn't he look great in his kimono?
Trying out the chopsticks...

Cainan and his buddy Harrison in the maze/construction zone.
Artists...

Boaz driving the tractor with friend Addelyn.

Several of us packed picnic lunches and ate there as well.  It was such a fun morning!  We attempted to get a picture of all the kids, but this was as good as it got.  There was always one or two running around that didn't make it in the shot.  (Boaz refused to be in any pictures with the group!)   Here's Addelyn, Harrison, Quinnlyn, & Cainan.    We sure are blessed with great friends!

Hygiene, rock stars, & baby girl

2/15- Boaz is growing up!  His newest 'big boy' activity is taking a shower all by himself!  I usually do a bit of scrubbing, but he loves to get his hair all wet and do his own washing up.  He doesn't like for the window to be open though (the curtain open a crack), so I was lucky to get this smiley picture of him!!  I love to listen to him sing his little heart out when he's in the shower!
Cainan is still obsessed with brushing his teeth.  He does this anytime the bathroom door is left open/unlocked.  He LOVES to brush, and mostly loves to stick his toothbrush in the water to get it wet.  This kid may be a dentist someday??

Sunglasses were the entertainment tonight after baths/showers.  Boaz & Cainan played "Rock Star"... which pretty much means wearing sunglasses and running around the living room.

This video isn't real funny or anything, but it's typical Boaz & Cainan running around.  They're just starting to play and interact more with each other.  It'll be fun to watch these two turn into buddies that play together!
2/16- A big day in our household!  Boaz got to head with us to the Dr. this morning to see our baby girl!!  Today was supposed to be the day we found out what we were having, but my awesome amazing Dr. let us find out early!!  :)    Boaz was pretty excited to see our baby on the TV...

Waiting patiently...

Checking out baby...   Boaz is going to be such a great big brother!!
The ultrasound went well and everything looked healthy... hooray!  So far, a due date of June 23.  Both boys came 2 1/2 weeks early, so I'm hoping this girl follows suit!  :)

Valentine/Friend Party

2/14- We invited a couple of neighbors and a couple little friends over for a Valentine/Birthday Party today.  Our neighbor friends weren't able to come, but two of Boaz's favorite buddies came over to celebrate with us.  Here is Boaz waiting in anticipation...
We did a Valentine project- a sticky heart to give to someone we love.  Boaz chose to give his to daddy.
 Buddy Jacob being creative...
 Austin sticking on cool things...
 Glitter time!
We had a snack and let Boaz blow out the candles one more time...
 Jacob, Boaz, & Austin
We had make-your-own fruit kabobs for a snack.  Not sure I thought that through well enough-  3 three-year-old boys with sharp sticks to eat with??  Hmmmm....

The boys were sweet and brought a couple gifts for Boaz!  Jacob gave him a Memory game and Austin gave him this really neat book about a tractor- the tractor moves on the pages!! (Boaz & Cainan LOVE this book!)
Jess showing them how it works....

Then we headed downstairs for one last game...  a Heart Hunt!  I hid a bunch of yellow hearts around the basement and the boys had to try to find them all.  They had fun running around discovering them.

It was a fun way to celebrate with a couple great little friends.  Happy Birthday, Boaz!   And Happy Valentine's Day!  We went to see Dad at work this noon- brought him some lunch and gave him the heart Boaz made for him.  Took home a heart pizza for supper that night & had a movie night until Luke came home.  It was a pretty fun day!!
