Miss Myka

9/23-  Today Myka found some necklaces that made her look stunning!  :)  She loves 'pretty' things.
She recently started saying 'cheese' when I get out the camera.  It sounds more like 'deee', but I know what she means!   You can just barely see those teeth that are coming in.  Two on the bottom, two on the top, and one more top one peeking through.
I thought it was humorous that she was saying 'cheese' while eating cheese.... their afternoon snack today.
Beautiful eyes... beautiful girl.  We love you bunches, Miss!!

Touch a Truck

9/22-  This morning we took the family out to Touch A Truck.  It was a chilly morning, but we still had a blast!  The boys really liked this bouncy house-- it was a maze/slide/jumpy all in one.
I couldn't ever get a good picture of Cainan.  He was too fast!  He really enjoyed tackling all the maze things.

Myka wanted to go inside so badly!  Maybe next year...
After we tried the bouncy houses, we went and started inspecting all the vehicles they had on display.  The firetruck was the first...  here the boys were making really loud siren noises.
The fireman helped Cainan get into the front seat
Yep- Cainan wore his boots again today.
Boaz sat in the back of the fire truck.  Hey, Buddy!
Then we moved on to the police gator thing...

The boys were super excited about the race car.  Apparently Myka was, too!  :)   I tried to get the boys to go down the line of cars in some sort of order.  Order is good in my world.  But they were too excited to go back and forth across the event to the next one that looked cool.  It was funny.
Myka takes the drivers seat...
Then Myka takes the steering wheel.
Up, up, up in the lift truck!
Cainan wasn't so sure about this one....  the man had to help him turn around to look at me.
In the SWAT car!
And a police car with a dog in the back!
The boys recently watched a show about monster trucks that showed how they were made.  So seeing a monster truck here made their day!
Woah- look how huge this is!
Next they took turns in the brand new snow plow.  Here's Boaz...
And Cainan.
We took a break to go watch The Dean of Juggling.
Dean was a professor of mine in college.  His daughter also worked for Luke back in the day.  He's super funny and a really great juggler.  Here he is juggling fire.

All three kids were intrigued by the show.
Myka got restless after a bit, so she walked around with her dad.
Boaz got to be part of the show!!  He was supposed to throw the ball to Dean and he'd start juggling it.  He tried overhand and didn't quite get the aim right.
Then he tried underhand and got it!
Dean even juggled on a unicycle for us.  And one of the craziest things... one of his other volunteers was named Kezia!!
Boaz in the back of the school bus.  He'd never been in one before and was amazed at how many seats there were.

Cainan hopped right up in all the big trucks.
Boaz was a little more tentative.... but still had a blast!
Checking out the dune buggy.
Vroom- vroom!
Miss Myka just looked cute today. These jeans and boots were the talk of many people we saw this morning.  Such a stylish little sweetie-- thanks to some great hand-me-downs!  It's definitely fun to dress a girl!
A great morning at a great event....

monkeying (and horsing) around

9/21- Cainan was excited to drive around his shiny truck today.  He spends hours and hours pushing this around the house.  It's his favorite way to do jobs as well... if I need him to pick things up, I ask him to take some loads in his dump truck!
Boaz loves to help Myka.  I'm not sure if she likes it most of the time, but he sure tries to keep her entertained!  :)   Today he pushed her around on her car.
I love her face in this picture... 'you want to do what?'   He wanted her to carry the monkey with her in the car.
Myka has a couple of monkeys in her crib.  Today the boys captured them and enjoyed playing monkey.  They gave them rides in trucks...
They helped Myka take them around town.....
They even drew clothes for them.   Boaz thought that the monkeys should have outfits just like Myka's dolls do.  He drew this all on his own and then we taped it to the monkey.  I was pretty impressed that the outfit he drew was the right size for the monkey!!

Cainan drew a shirt for his monkey, too.  Mostly he scribbled all over a page and I turned it into a shirt.  Here he his posing with his monkey for the camera.   :)
The finished product.
It's cooling down a bit here.  But Cainan still decided to wear a tanktop today.  And he refuses to wear pants thus far.  We headed over to a neighbor's house to play after naps and I told him he needed something warmer.  This is what he decided would help.  Oh, Cainan... I just love you.
Tonight, Boaz wanted to film another movie and watch it on our TV.  The next videos are his movie... shot in  a few segments by Dad.  We had them get ready for bed and then had their movie premier on our big TV.  **  Warning... these are long and the story line is made up by a 4 year old!   :)

breathe, art, truck wash

9/19-  Boaz had a rough couple days this week.  I thought he'd escaped the strep that Cainan had, but no such luck.  On Monday right after lunch, Boaz's breathing got a little wheezy and he complained that he didn't feel well.  By mid-afternoon he was short of breath and super lethargic.  I had a check-up for Kezia that night anyway, so took Boaz in also.  His oxygen levels were down to 93%.  He had an xray, strep test, blood draw, breathing treatment, and had to get a steroid shot to get his lungs working again.  He was not a happy camper.  He did great with everything but the shot.  The Drs even said that it was a shot that was going to hurt.  (I learned not to tell your kid that he wasn't going to get shots!!)  We did these breathing treatments every 4 hours- through the night even- and for a couple days after.  Thankfully, his oxygen levels came back up and he's doing fine again!!  (We are so thankful for our friend, Dr. Angie!!)
One of the funniest things about this breathing treatment... Boaz couldn't talk while he was sitting there taking it.  It was all he could do to sit there quietly for 5 minutes!!  :)
We are going to host a pumpkin carving competition with our neighbors at Halloween.  This is Boaz's plan for his pumpkin.
And another Boaz drawing.  I'm not sure what this was...
Cainan's pumpkin design.
Cainan is doing papers in Sunday School now!!  Here's the first one he brought home.
I couldn't remember if I'd included this one on the blog before.  Awhile back, Boaz drew me a refrigerator.  He included lots of juice and oranges for me.  (though we rarely have either in our house!)
My Kezia.... just chillin'.

After we did some chores today, the boys got to have a truck wash out on our court.  They are content with a bucket of water and some washcloths.  And man, did their trucks shine afterward!

Missy Miss. Missy Myka. Miss. Miss Myka.  Those are all the nicknames we have for her.  :)
