Funnies...

6/21- No pictures to post tonight... will get back at that soon.  Just wanted to jot down a couple of funny things that have happened lately.

-  A few days ago, Boaz told me that we needed to have a garden with lots of flowers.  I didn't inherit the gardening gene like my mom & sisters.  It's all I can do to take care of 2 pots for the summer.  I told Boaz that gardens take lots and lots of hard work and that if he wanted to take care of it, he could have one someday.  He got all excited and matter-of-factly said, "Yes- and it will take rain, and singing songs, and love."  I laughed and told him that if that's what a garden took, I'd have one!!

- Yesterday we were playing outside and Boaz was racing up and down the sidewalk with a neighbor girl.  He tripped and fell- and got his first bloody knee of the summer.  I so wish I had a video of this, but my little over-reactor spent the next 10 minutes shaking his hands in the air, crying, and yelling... "This is really really bad!  This is sure a bad one!  This is bad!!"   Oh my... our neighbor and I were trying so hard not to crack up at him!!  He fell again tonight and added another bloody spot to the same knee.  Tonight he spent the evening crying, "I don't want any more skin off!"  It's been pretty traumatic around here.

-  Yesterday was an eventful day from the start.  Cainan & Boaz came in to wake me up at 6:25.  I got up and before I even made it out to the living room with Myka, I heard a big crash.  They had somehow managed to shatter one of the glass doors on our TV stand all over the living room.  They pounded down and ton of food for breakfast, Cainan took a good fall on the sidewalk, they were in multiple fights, and Cainan was super cranky all day.   Finally took him into the convenient care clinic at 6pm and confirmed that he has another ear infection.  Sad that he has an ear infection, but glad to have some meds and hopeful that it will solve some of his sadness that we've been plagued with lately.   Whew!  We were all ready for bed last night!!  It really wasn't a horrible day, but one of those days you're glad is over!

-  I've written before about Boaz's past lives... when he was in college, when he was an old man, etc.  Lately he's been going to work quite a bit (but had a couple days off last week).   He's also had several meetings with two girls in purple dresses.  Mostly their meetings are at Orchard Hill Church.  Not sure what they meet about, but it's serious business.

I have such fun little kiddos!  Though the days can be long and hard occasionally, I sure do feel blessed to be able to spend this time with them- and to hear & witness all their antics!!   :)

Myka's first weekend home

6/11-  Myka got to meet Grandpa Glace today!  He was out on the road the last couple days, but came to meet her as soon as he could get here!  Grandpa loves his new baby grandkids and can't wait to hold them.

Boaz & Cainan vying for his attention...
Cainan got out this microphone and entertained us with his singing... which pretty much entailed him bobbing around silently pretending to sing.  If you know Cainan, you know he is a quiet kid.  He chooses not to talk much, so we laughed at his silent singing- it was so him!   In the past couple of days, he has very clearly said 'my goodness & I don't know."  He definitely could talk if he wanted to, but chooses the silent life thus far.

All bundled up for a trip down the street.  Our annual neighborhood picnic was this evening.  Free food and a bouncy house for the kids.  I sent Luke and the boys down to play and then brought Myka down for the dinner later.  It was good to get out for a little walk down the street and was fun to introduce her to some neighbors.
She looks so tiny in her carseat!
6/12-  Sunday... we stayed home from church today and enjoyed some time outside.  Apples on the steps are one of the boys' favorite activities.   Sure do love these two buddies!

Myka enjoyed some time outside in the fresh air!

Ready for a walk with the boys.  Boaz is doing really well on his big boy bike and Cainan cruises on his plasma car!!  We take at least one bike ride a day.
All this activity wears Myka out!
Still sleeping...
I almost feel guilty writing this, but Myka is an incredible sleeper!!  She is sleeping through the night already.  Yes, it's true.  I feed her at 10:30ish and she's been sleeping until at least 5.  Unreal.  She is making up for the months I spent up with Cainan!  Hope she continues this pattern!!

I always laugh at the things I find around the house.  This giant rock was in the bathroom tonight.  I asked Boaz where it came from and he told me he brought it in to wash it- so I could have it for my collection.  :)

Coming Home

6/10- We're home!!  We were excited to have Myka home with her brothers- and they were excited to see her, too!   Grandma Glace stayed with the boys the last couple days and was here to greet us, too!
Boaz holding Myka...

He is going to be such a good helper.
Checking out her tiny fingers
Hugs, Hugs, Hugs
And more hugs from Cainan
(finally I get to be the big one!)
"Gentle, Cainan!"   :)   (I have a feeling we'll use those words a lot around here...)

Cainan couldn't stop hugging and kissing.  He's such a sweetheart.

6/11-  Myka got her first sponge bath at home today!

Cainan is a big helper
All clean and ready for a nap!  Myka loves to have her hands up by her face all the time.  Her ultrasounds were all like this as well!

More Myka

6/9-  It's Thursday... we're on day #3 in the hospital.  Got up this morning and decided we'd had enough of the hospital garb on Myka.  Time for a cute sleeper and hat!!  Peaceful little Myka...
Not so peaceful Myka...

We had a lot of fun visitors today!  We kicked off the morning with our friends Ellen & Natalie.  Here's Ellen giving Myka a snuggle...

and Natalie's turn!
Then my mom brought the boys over for another visit!  Boaz walked in the door first carrying this beautiful boquet of flowers.  I almost cried.  He looked so grown up... and for a split second, I imagined him dating a woman someday and bringing flowers to the door (hopefully when he's about 20).   Cainan wanted a turn holding the flowers, too...
Myka picked out a present for her brothers.  They were pretty excited she gave them a bubble toy, some playdough,  and some chocolate candy!  Boaz said, "Thank you, Baby Girl!!"
Mom & the boys put together these cute packages of M&M's to give to our visitors.  Boaz was excited about this job.
My friend, Allison, stopped by this morning also.  I didn't get a picture of the beautiful gerber daisies she brought us.  Boaz was excited to share the M&M packages with her!
Playdough time for the boys,  paperwork time for dad.  That's always his job at the hospital-- filling out the piles of papers!
Flowers and bear from Mom (and the boys)
Allison got in on one of the many many checks they had to do on Myka.  They ended up using a vacuume on her during delivery and there's some new protocol within the last couple weeks that they then have to do a battery of assessments every 4 hours during her entire stay at the hospital- even if the stats never change.  The nurses and I agreed that the precaution is nice, but super excessive after the same results every single time... seems like Myka was ALWAYS getting assessed while we were there!
My sister, Emily, and her kids stopped by after lunch.  Here are our cousins Hannah, Ellie, & Zach.
Sister Emily.  (with Luke looking super excited in the background!  This hospital stay can get a bit boring for husbands, I think!!)

Ellie
Hannah
Then our friend, Leah, stopped by to meet Myka...
And her mom & sister came, too!  Here's Jane & Hannah....
Hannah
'Miss Jane'
And then we crashed... time for naps!!
Still hanging out on that comfy couch...
Beautiful roses sent from Luke's boss & sons.  Most of you know that my husband is not a real romantic guy.  I laughed so hard when these were delivered and he asked what kind of flowers they were!!  Does that tell you how much I get flowers from him??  :)    I just asked him if I could write about that on the blog and he said, "I did think there was a good chance they were roses, by the way!  That or fat tulips!"   HA!
Flowers from the boys  (and mom)

Snuggling up at the end of the day... just can't get enough of this cutie!
6/10-  Our final day here!  I think green may be a good color on her...

I forget how huge a pacifier looks on the face of a newborn!
Our friend, Teresa, just happened to be in town for the day and was able to sneak over and see us before we left the hospital.  So great to see her again!!

After her visit, we loaded Myka up and they wheeled me out of the hospital in style.  Gotta love those wheelchair rides to the car!   My camera battery died, so we didn't get a picture of Myka all packed up and ready to go.   Our arrival home in the post to follow...
