Fall = football season!! We've had a lot of football on at our house... UNI, Iowa, etc. Boaz loves to talk about football. When you mention the game, his response is a slur of phrases like "hut, hut, hike! Do, do, do! (go) Hawkeyes!!" He loves to clap and cheer with the game and often repeats things that he hears Luke yelling at the TV. (look out, daddy!) This video is of the first time we introduced him to the 'hut, hut, hike' concept. His response cracked me up.

September- part 2
And finally to some more recent pictures!! These will finish out the month of September and we'll be caught up! Hooray!! Here are a couple of pictures of Boaz on Sept. 13- 19 months old!! He loves this new train a neighbor gave him. 
And at 19 months- he still has the BEST eyelashes!! 
The colder weather brought chili season to our house! Boaz loves to stir the beans... and sample them as we cook. This was a batch we made for a football game night. 
We've been doing lots of projects to get ready for baby brother to arrive. Luke spent a long time getting the garage organized again- he built more shelves and got everything off the floors so we have more room to get carseats in and out! Boaz was excited that Dad found this Halloween pumpkin for his trick-or-treating soon! 
This picture is what Boaz looks like most of the day. He's currently getting about 5 teeth (judging from the bumps I see in his mouth), including 4 molars. It makes for some miserable moments around here, but he's doing pretty well. I do think that we should have bought stock in Tylenol.
A couple weeks ago, Boaz & I took a roadtrip to see some friends of ours near Ames. On the way there, we stopped at Grandma Glace's dentist office to surprise her and say hello. She gave Boaz this toothbrush to chomp on for the rest of the trip since his teeth were bothering him again. It worked!
We had such a great day visiting Kathy & her kids. Kathy & I have been best friends since preschool. We don't get to see each other often, but when we do we pick up right where we left off. It's great to have friends like that. Her two oldest girls had fun entertaining Boaz. Here they were singing him silly songs. Kathy's youngest son is just a couple months younger than Boaz. They had fun playing together.

September- part 1
On to September happenings! Boaz loves to eat anything that we do. If either Luke or I have a snack, he will climb and get as close to your face as he can and say 'hi.' He'll continue to say 'hi' and 'hello' until you acknowledge his presence by sharing a bite. It's so funny. Here is a picture of he and daddy sharing an apple. 
Another sweeping picture... I know. I loved his outfit this morning- sunglasses and a diaper.
When I forget to take my grocery bags to Aldi, Boaz inherits a new toy for a few days. These two boxes provided a week of fun for him. 
I always turn the camera off just as disaster is about to strike... no worries- he wasn't hurt in this video either. He came up laughing!
Boaz discovered that plugging his ears makes everything sound funny. Just for laughs at lunch a few times, when his ears were plugged I would move my mouth like I was talking and not really be saying anything. Then when he unplugged his ears, I would yell really loud just to see what he'd do. He cracked up for a long time.

My mom made all of the grandkids Quiet Books for Christmas last year. They are so wonderful and Boaz has just begun really enjoying all of the activities in it. I walked into his room on this occasion and found him sitting in the corner enjoying the bunny page. He likes to pull the rabbit out of the hat and give him a smooch. His favorite page of all is a man whose nose you can shape. He'll often request this book at bedtime. Thanks, Mom!!

August - part 3.
You probably all know that we are Panther fans!! Luke loves to go to all the UNI sporting events that he can. We got to go to an athletic club open house and barbeque at the Dome to check out the new turf and facilities. We hope that Boaz gets to play on this field someday! He seems to like it already! 
Luke is also a big fan of Seinfeld. Boaz has been fascinated by the Seinfeld Scene It game we have lately. Here Boaz is studying up on his Seinfeld trivia. He hopes to know every quote from every episode like his daddy someday.
We have several baskets of hats, gloves, etc by our garage door. Boaz spends many hours trying on all our outdoor gear and walking around the house in it. I get nervous that he'll run into something- but typically try to let him have his fun!!

More of August fun!! I've posted pictures of Boaz sweeping before, but here are a couple more cute ones. This Swiffer vac is amazing. He LOVES to help me sweep the kitchen... and I LOVE the help!!
My little muscle man....
In August, we got to celebrate our friend Jess' 30th birthday with several families at a park. We had a picnic, enjoyed some cupcakes, and then the women got to go out to a movie afterward while the men were in charge of bedtime!! It was a great treat for all of us. 
Boaz had fun exploring at the park. 
I said in a previous post that we are blessed to have great neighbors. This is another of Boaz's neighbor friends... Reagan. Reagan's mom & I went on quite a few walks this summer with the kids. Boaz talks about the 'baby' across the street all the time and loves to see her. 
There are times when I look at Boaz and can't believe how grown up he looks. This was one of those times. He was wearing a basketball jersey and shorts and with that little arm propped up on the chair during snacktime, he looked more like a 5 year old than 1 1/2. It's wild how fast this time goes.
Boaz figured out how to open all our doors in August. Thus... there is no territory uncharted in our home. Closing the doors to the bathroom and our room no longer holds him back. He's enjoying this new freedom... a bit too much at times. I had to rearrange this pantry so the breakable things are on higher shelves. We recently installed locks on a bunch of the upstairs doors since I won't be able to chase him quite as well in the coming weeks!!
Boaz loves to play with Ozzie and copies what Luke does to get Ozzie going. If you watch this video... turn the sound down if you don't like yippy dog barking!! Luke & Boaz love to get Ozzie riled up.

We are very blessed to have GREAT neighbors and many many young kids living around us. One hot morning, we went to some friend's house for a fun time in the sprinkler. Boaz's buddy Teagan got out some bubbles, which made his day. Several weeks later, we walked by Teagan's house and Boaz pointed to it and said "Bubbles!" I am continually amazed by his little memory.
Boaz is getting very good at animal sounds
And he's perfecting his utensil skills!!

These pictures are actually back from the beginning of August. I'm going to play catch up in the next couple days... part of the nesting process I think?! :) We spent a nice day at my parent's house in Eldora (pre-storm). Boaz always looks forward to this red car in papa's garage. He will get in and out of this thing for a loooong time.
The weather was so nice that we decided to go to the park for awhile. Boaz enjoyed climbing and going down all the slides with Grandma.
