Cainan is FOUR (bday/putting green)

10/15-  We're still enjoying some birthday gifts today.  The boys worked together on this Cars poster for probably 30 minutes this morning.

Spiderman perfected the monster feet.
And then Spiderman got hot and came out like this.  (Does he have a six pack?? Seriously, this kid is ripped... and he's four.)
Silly kid.
Boaz and his mustard.  He loves it!  His hamburger order is always 'with pickles and mustard.'

Cainan helping Kezia finish up her meal.  He is such a sweet little man.

10/16- It's Cainan's birthday!!  He's officially FOUR today!!  We kicked off the day with a present at the breakfast table.  Myka was just excited as he was.
Myka was riled up this morning.  She was cracking me up as I got her dressed for the day.
She was twirling her sweatshirt singing some song about Strawberry Shortcake.

To celebrate Cainan today, I decided to take him to a surprise destination.  We went and did what Cainan loves most... running, jumping, and going nuts.  Inflatables!!  This plane was a fun new addition.

Grandma Bartlett had the day off and joined us on our adventure.
Myka never ceases to amaze me.  She is one brave little girl.  She climbed up the ladder to this inflatable all by herself!  (She did it months ago, but it still amazes me today.)
Birthday boy coming down!
This kid.  It's pure joy for him to jump and knock over things.
Myka keeping up with the boys.

Heaven for a boy.
There goes Myka!
And here comes Cainan!
The girls really enjoyed a smaller bounce house together.
Kezia couldn't stay up for long, but thought it was funny.
This was more her speed.
The pilot taking off on another adventure.

A little rest...

Up they go!
We played hide and seek for awhile.  We were the only ones there most of the time, so we had the run of the whole place.  Myka and Boaz hid under these kids chairs and Cainan seriously didn't see them.  It was one of the funniest moment of 2013.  He just grabbed a train and started playing.  I died.

How old are you today??
More dress up this afternoon.  This should have been my Christmas card.  :)  Makes me smile.

Cainan requested Mini Murph's for his dinner tonight.  We were happy to oblige.
Cainan takes all of his work very seriously.  Whether it be sweeping, spreading pizza sauce, coloring, or playing cars... he is focused and works really hard at the thing he's doing.

Myka's pepperoni pile.
If she worked at Papa Murphy's, she'd hear about topping distribution for sure!
The finished product- complete with a candle.   Mr. Cainan... you are one special guy.  You are challenging in so many ways, but your tender heart just makes me weep.  I love your energy, your speed, your strength.
I love how your eyes get wide when you are excited or telling a story.
A special present for Cainan... a real putter! He and Dad like to putt in the living room a lot.

And Dad came up with an amazing gift for Cainan (and all of us!!).  Check it out!!!
A putting green for our basement!!  He ordered one online originally, but when it came it wasn't at all what he wanted.  (it was foamy plastic and rolled up)  He decided he could create a much better one on his own... and for a lot less money!!
Trying it out....  (Dad just finished the green this afternoon, so the glue won't be ready for us to really walk on it until tomorrow.)

10/17-  First thing in the morning and working on his putting.  That's another quality I love about this kid... he's determined!

We forgot to mark heights yesterday, so did this evening.  The birthday boy is growing like a weed!!
And so is his sister!
"Someday I'm going to be as high as the bee!"  Yep, Cainan... you will be.
Cainan, you are such an amazing little man.  God made you special.  He made you with enough energy to run without ceasing for 13 hours a day.  He wired you up to fall asleep in 15 seconds if Mom is scratching your back (my secret weapon!) or if you're in the car.  Your Dad and I love to place bets when we drive somewhere if you'll be zonked in the backseat and how long it will take you to do so.  I love the way you stammer around your words when you are really excited to tell me something.  I sort-of love the way you repeat my name 10 times to be sure I'm listening- even when I'm staring right at you.  I love that you are my 'tough' kid, but you're the first to smile and give me hugs in the morning.  You love good snuggles and I hope you don't grow out of those too soon.  You are learning so many things... without trying. It's been fun to have you along for the ride as Boaz does school this year.  You amaze me every day with what you're picking up. You're a numbers kid and you love our math time.  You LOVE to play computer, Wii, kindle, etc.  I love the way you take care of your sisters.  You have a soft spot for Kezia and love to help her.  And you've recently discovered that you can be the leader when you play with Myka.  This makes playing with Myka very appealing!  It's fun to watch you include her in your ideas.  You are hungry constantly and could drink a gallon of milk a day if I let you.  (Only one glass at each meal in this house!) You love to push buttons... both physically and mentally.  Most of the time, a scuffle in this house involves you. You are a hard worker (when you want to be). Your work ethic will get you far someday.  Your prayers are so genuine.  I just love when you're thankful for your Mommy.  :)  I love the way you laugh.  I wish I could write the sound of your laugh in words so I could always remember it.  Your laugh is one of the best sounds on this Earth.   Cainan- you are one awesome kid.  I am so blessed to be your mommy.

Cainan's Football Birthday Party

10/13- Kezia is attempting to eat with a fork today.  She was not real successful.
But she had a lot of fun being big!
10/14- She's seen me do this one too many times.  Our kids spill water every 10 seconds.
Some great dance moves by Kezia... I love the way she tilts her head to the side when she starts dancing.  This video ends the way most fun moments end in this house...  :)
These boys are such good helpers when we're working toward a goal.  Tonight is Cainan's birthday party and we are excited!!

Kezia started saying 'Hi!' the other day.  This is one of my favorite stages.  I love listening to words developing.
Setting the table for his football party.
Can you guess where the birthday boy is going to sit?
Our sweet neighbor friend came over to play with kids for a bit while I got a few things ready for the party.  She got to pose in a football hat next to the poster Boaz made.  Lucky Bailey!
Football party time!!  We started off kicking the ball around while I finished dinner.  The boys laid out their big green blanket as a football field.  And they stacked our black tables to make goal posts.

The birthday boy.  His meal choice... hotdogs, macaroni, apples.  I can handle that.
His first look at the football cake!

Oh, this FOUR year old melts my heart.

Cake coma.

Present time.  He was so excited to see what this present was... one of his favorite things.
A book of mazes from Grandma & Grandpa Glace!  He took this book to bed with him and slept with it for a couple weeks.  Each night he'd do mazes with his finger as he fell asleep.  He didn't want to ruin it with pencil quite yet.
A batmobile!!
And to complete the gift, a Batman mask and shirt that glows in the dark.  This boy was in heaven!  (Thanks, Mom & Dad!)

And a gift from Grandma & Grandpa Bartlett... a Spiderman costume!!  Perfect for Halloween.
Dad helped undo packages.  Dads are good for stuff like that.  Also from the Bartletts- some monster stilt things.  So fun.
Spiderman made a visit to the party after gifts were opened!!  :)

Boaz assuring Cainan that he looks really cool.
Shooting webs at people...

And then Batman showed up.  What a party!!
That Batman is one speedy dude.  (Cainan just loves to show people how fast he is. I love it. )
Trying out the stilts.

Spidey Baby.  Kezia wanted to be a superhero, too!
Look out!  It was such a fun evening with the people Cainan loves the most.

10/15- Grandma B wrapped Cainan's gift in brown paper with roads drawn on it.  His 'work' at the table the next morning was playing cars on his roads.  Boaz didn't think that was too fair when his pile still had handwriting practice and sight word writing.  Birthday boys catch all the breaks.

Still playing superheros today.

My three superheros.  So glad to have them on my side.
