girls in pretty dresses, Marion Mr. Beans, kezia talking, kids singing, CC fun

4/6- Miss K looked so stinking cute in her church dress today that I had to do a little photo shoot.
This goofball... always goofy.

4/7-  Kezia saying Eenie Meenie Miny Mo...

Video - Boaz up!

Myka finished up a color matching game at rest time.
The boys in disguise.  They crack me up.

4/8-  This morning I told the kids that they'd be staying at Gma's house tonight.  This was their reaction.
Boaz does his CC presentation...  He sounds so grown up and professional when he presents to his class.  He always makes me smile.

Today's science project was another teamwork project... making egg protectors out of straws, paper towels, and rubber bands.  These will be dropped from different heights on the last day of school and the goal is to have your egg stay in tact!

In the arts currently, we are learning about orchestras, instrument families, and composers.

They colored and assembled an orchestra... seating the instruments where they belonged.
4/9-  Some pictures of our Marion Mr. Beans location.  This place is so beautiful, too!

Yum!

4/11- Oh, Miss Myka.  She was invited to Adrian's princess birthday dinner tonight and was excited to dress the part.

When did she get so big??

Waiting for her chariot.  (Aunt Katie in her minivan)

4/14-  Snow!  We were outside in tshirts last week and today we are out playing in the snow again.
The boys were outside before they'd even changed out of pajamas!
Myka always loves for me to draw pictures of our family.  The funny thing is, when she's listing off the people in our family she always asks me to draw Chad.  He's a family friend that we rarely see these days, but he's always included in the family photos.  :)

CC project, clay, stories, Mr. Beans, fingernails, outside

3/25-  Today in CC, the kids started their end of the year science projects.  Today they had work in a team to make a bridge that could hold up textbooks.  This was a student-driven project and they couldn't have help from the adults.  It was so fun to watch them think and create.  We'll test their projects in a couple weeks on the final day.

Boaz discussing an idea with his buddy, Hudson.
Kezia likes to sing.  Here she is singing "Happy Birthday."   Although her singing is more like yelling than singing...

3/26-  Game time with Dad.

3/31-  Today the boys got to go to UNI to paint their clay creations!

Seriously... could these two get any cuter??
Darren taught them all about the glazes.
Then he showed them the different kilns and explained how they worked.

Stopping for a picture with the Panther on the way home.  Thanks to Jane for playing with the girls while the boys enjoyed this art time!!
More creative stories by Boaz.

4/4-  I got to go down and help Luke at Mr. Beans today.  This really is a beautiful place.

4/5-  Not sure this was a good idea, but I let the girls paint their own nails today.

Kezia painted the paper more than she did her fingernails.

Myka's finished product.

Ahhh... springtime sunshine and fun outdoors!  This is what I've waited months for!

spring, playing trains, math time

Could it be??  An actual blog post?  I'm only about 4 months behind!!  Luckily, I haven't been snapping too many photos the past few months, so I dumped all of them on the computer this morning and am going to try to get caught up again.  Here we go!!

3/19-  This is a sleeve of ice cream cones.  I caught Kezia sitting in the pantry trying to knaw through the plastic today.

3/21-  I LOVE SPRING.  It feels so great to get this crew outside after a long long long winter.
I sent the boys out to explore during naps.  They played down in the creek for an hour all by themselves!  LOVE IT!  I had so much fun watching them play and dig and haul stuff around.

Giggles with Dad.
3/22-  Kezia is just a funny little girl.  She's always into stuff... towels, washcloths, bibs, boots, shoes, etc.  She just always is hauling and wearing things around the house.

3/23-  Playing with medicine droppers... in boots.
Boaz wrote a story about a snowman this week.  I've been giving him some creative writing prompts and letting his imagination run.  It's fun to see what he comes up with.

3/24-  All aboard!!  The train is leaving the station.

Sometimes we have days where all the kids just play so well together.  Today was one of those days.... I love it when they are such great buddies.
Math time... making a 10s rainbow and learning about all the ways to add up to 10.
