Learn & Play!

9/1-  Today was Boaz's very first day of "school!"  My good friend, Jess, was a preschool teacher before she started staying home with her kids.  She had the idea to get a group of 6 kiddos (2-3 year olds) together at her house once a week and do a little learning and playing time.  Quite honestly, I had a hard time making the decision to send Boaz... and it's only 2 hours a week!!  I'm not ready for him to grow up!  But, I knew it would be great for him to spend some time with other kids and with an adult other than mommy. 

 Boaz was very very excited to be able to take his backpack to school.  This morning he had it out and ready... and wore it around for about an hour until it was time to go. 

 He was also very excited about his new waterbottle that he got to buy at Walmart. 

 My little man all ready for school!!   He did great on this first day... and mommy did okay, too!  :)

One funny story about school...  there is a boy named Jacob who goes also.  The first time I told him that he'd meet Jacob, he replied, "Oh- John Jacob?"  (like the song John Jacob Jingleheimerschmitz)   Which is why he starts talking about Jacob funny in this video- Grandpa Bartlett has a cd with that song on it.    Since meeting Jacob, another funny thing has happened- Boaz now talks like he has a southern accent!!  Jacob's parents mentioned that Jacob was doing that lately- now we know where Boaz picked it up!! 

ElmoDonald & Injuries

8/30- Boaz has really funny ways of saying some phrases  (a post on more of these to come!).  One of the things he continuously says wrong is Old MacDonald.   He always says ElmoDonald.  Even the restaurant McDonalds is called ElmoDonald.  Here's a funny video of him trying to get it right... didn't work!

9/2-  We had a couple of injuries at our house today.  Luke was grilling our dinner tonight and singed all his arm hair off!!    (of course we took a picture of that!!)

 And Boaz tripped on the cement while he was running today and got this nice scraped up nose and forehead. 

 Cainan didn't have a whole lot of injuries today, but he did manage to become a complete mess....

 Boaz helped with the bottle and Cainan ended up wearing most of it!

8/27 -  Katie called to see if I could take the kids for a couple hours while she got some stuff done for her UNI class.  We hadn't seen Grandma & Grandpa Glace for awhile, so I just decided to take all 4 of them to Eldora for the day!  They all enjoyed some yummy chocolate pudding for dessert at lunchtime. 

 The three oldest played 'chase' with Grandpa for a loooong time.  They went around and around the circle in the basement- screaming and laughing. 

They had a shark that they spent a long time chasing each other with, also.  They definitely took good naps today!! 

Cainan had fun dancing with Brenna and pushing around the mower. 

 Boaz was pretty excited to wear this new Panthers jersey today.  He & Blake helped Grandpa play computer games and thought it was pretty cool.  

 It was a great day back home with Grandma & Grandpa!!


I swore that my kids would never watch Barney.  One day it was one when I was flipping through the channels to find something for Boaz to watch and both he and Cainan were mesmerized.  Argh!!  I caved and they watch Barney occasionally now.  This is a video of what Cainan does every single time the theme song starts!! 

parkersburg playdate!

8/26 - We headed out to Parkersburg today to see our friend Raegan and her kids.  Kris & Allison met us out there with their kiddos, too!  Boaz enjoyed Quinnlyn's toys.  I thought Luke would get a kick out of these pictures of Boaz in a butterfly outfit pushing a baby in a stroller!  :)

 Their dog, Cooper, was outside the door wanting to come in and play.  Cainan was inside the door wanting to get outside and play!!

 What a fun group...  Harrison was sleeping at the time we tried to take these.  He's Cainan's age... can you imagine how humorous these pictures would have looked trying to add another kid?  :)    We are so blessed to have such great friends!!

toby tribute

8/25 - Boaz is becomming a big fan of Toby Mac.  He frequently requests the following two songs when we are driving in the car.  Here are his versions of the songs...

(our friend, Tim, plays the guitar for Toby... when the guitar solo comes on at the beginning of this song,   Boaz always yells... "Oh! That's our friend Tim!!"

Cainan 9 month pictures

7/16 - Our friend, Emily Hoffert, took these 9 month pictures of Cainan! She captured his little personality so well.  There are a bunch of pictures on this post... just too many good ones to choose from!
