A week in the life...

This post will be a long one... just a warning!  I'm playing catch-up (like always!) and am going to pile it all on here.  :)

12/31-  Cainan brought out all the new bathtub characters this morning.  The characters wanted to watch a morning cartoon, too.  Each kid had one as they watched Curious George while I made breakfast.
Tonight, they go in the tub and stay in the tub.  :)  We'll play with them 'on land' for one more day.

It's Bubble Pizza night.  Myka's job was tearing the biscuits apart.
Boaz stepped in to help, too.
Quite the team.
After cooking, Boaz made Kezia laugh... not hard to do, but he's good at it!

1/1/13-  Sweet sisters. Myka & Kezia.
Look!  It's the baby!
kezia is getting so big!!
Tool man is here to help me fix things.
Cainan is the best snuggler in the house when he wants to be.
He takes great care of his siter.
I recently discovered that he loves back rubs.  That's my ploy to get him to come sit with me for awhile, now!  Every night at bedtime he asks me for a 'rub back.'  I'm happy to oblige.
During naptime today the boys wanted to turn the penguin into a scary ghost.  I laugh at the number of creative funny things they come up with.  I'm constantly cutting things, tying things, gluing things, building things, etc.  It's nonstop here, but boy do they have fun!  The ghost turned out pretty funny.
Cainan made ghost noises on this whistle while Boaz waved the ghost around.  It was super scary.
Scared faces...

They snuck downstairs and scared Luke in his office by dangling it in the doorway.  He's always a sport and plays along with their antics.  (We try not to interrupt him much, but sometimes an idea is just too fun!)

Showing Dad their sneaky masterpiece.
When Myka woke up, the boys wanted to scare her.  She was a little freaked out about the weird thing in the corner.
Boaz was behind it to make it move and Myka screamed and giggled.  We laughed and laughed.

Cutie pie Cainan- laughing at Myka.
Always silly and goofy.
Myka gets brave...  :)

1/2-  Today our friend, Ellen, came over for a visit.  She's home on Christmas break and we were excited to see her!  For some reason, the boys decided to go to sleep- and Ellen joined them.
Cainan 'washed' my dishes this afternoon for about 30 minutes.  I need to give him that job more often!!
I told the boys that we needed to start getting rid of some toys around here.  They made some boxes to start collecting things in and then got to work finding toys we didn't need.  Of course, they kept picking out toys the other person liked and fought the entire time.  Boaz was ready to pitch everything... Cainan wanted to keep it all.  This will be a job for Mom when she's all alone, I think!
1/3-  Today we made a big boat and my sailors hit the high seas.
Shipmate Cainan manned the controls.
Captain Boaz drove the big ship.
Our steering wheel... a paper plate and a baby toy stacker.
The sailors even took breaks to make sure they were well rested for their expedition.
Their mission... to transport all the animals to their correct habitats.  (Yep- they made up that one themselves!)
Finger painting for rest time today.  Why do I call this rest time??  I guess the two girls were resting...

It's fun to watch Boaz get more and more creative with his art projects.
After finger painting, the boys helped me clean out and organize the laundry room.  It was their idea to scrub the floor!  Have at it!!
Kezia lights up this house. She is so so happy!  I love changing her and watching this sweet face grin back at me.  We enjoy our late night chats quite a bit.

1/4-  Kezia helping Mom cook in the kitchen.
Myka cleaning up her face after dinner.
Myka's first pigtails tonight!!  (a proud mommy moment)

Thus ends the week.  If you made it this far... wow!   Thanks for humoring me!   :)

Miss Myka and Sunday fun

12/30-  Someone was tired after church today!

Miss Myka.
I just had to get a picture of her in her church dress today.

She sat on my lap and we tried another photoshoot.
Her first attempt at drinking out of a glass... that I have sanctioned.  In the last couple months, she has been making frequent trips to the fridge with cups.  She can now reach the water and ice levers and if we have them unlocked, we're in for a big wet mess in the kitchen!!
Spiderwoman.
Taking baby for a walk.

Having girl stuff in the house is fun!  Tonight Luke took the boys downstairs to play his new Wii game . Myka and I spent some time learning to play 'baby.'  We learned to feed the baby, give her the bottle, brush her hair, etc.  She had so much fun!!
Then the real baby of the house woke up and Myka had fun entertaining her.
Hugs for sister
Kisses for sister.  Sister sometimes isn't so sure about all the hugs and kisses.
Keiza hanging out with Mommy while I make dinner.

This is how Dad watched the basketball game tonight.  The boys kept shooting his head and he put on a football helmet as defense.
This is becoming a nightly routine here.  These boys are hungry all.the.time.  They've started asking for grapes or a string cheese before they go to bed.
Just hanging out eating a bedtime snack.
I pray that these two will continue to be best buddies the rest of their lives.  Just love their camaraderie.
