school, tutus, dance party

1/23/13-  Today was Grandma Bartlett's day off and she stopped by to say hello. Boaz wanted to play school, so they set up desks and made Grandma be the teacher.
She taught them how to write their names while I mopped the kitchen floor!!

Then Boaz played pirate- complete with a parrot and some treasure.
Arrrrgh....
Smiles from Kezia.

1/24/13-  The girls dressed up in their tutus from Grandma Glace today.
This was the best picture I got of them together.

1/25/13-  Me Without You dance party.... the boys really like this new Toby Mac song.  check out their cool moves!  this video is a bit long, but I want to remember these spur of the moment dance party times.  we do these often when we're waiting for Dad to get home from work!

art, fancy party

1/20/13-  I just can't get over how cute this little munchkin is.  She's still not great at sitting tall... we're working on it!  She'd rather launch herself over and be on her tummy, so she doesn't sit in this much.
Tonight she joined the family at dinner.  She loved staring at her daddy.
And she made us all giggle.
Myka is quite the entertainer, too.  When we ask who would like to pray for our meal, she does this...  "Me, me, me, me!!!"
This is what she does when you ask her to close her eyes.  :)  Amen!
Then let's dig in!  Chili tonight... I love that she doesn't complain about her food yet.

1/21/13-  More recent artwork.  I came home from church today and the boys had made pizza for lunch.  Boaz also drew our lunch here... Papa Murphy's pizza.  Mmmmm.... our favorite!!
Boaz gave me this today.  Melt my heart.  "I Love."   He told me that it said "I Love Mommy."
Cainan drew another person.
A Christmas tree with lights strung on it, presents underneath, and a cross on the top.
People in a lightening/rain storm.  They are carrying umbrellas.
One of my favorite things Boaz has created lately...  "I bring you good news!"  He came up with this idea all on his own and asked me to spell it all for him.  LOVE when he things about scripture!
Chefs serving a man at a restaurant.  The lines are all tables.  I was impressed by the chef hats.
Santa on his sleigh- pulled by reindeer.  He's fllying over the houses.  one house has a big chimney.
Boaz made me these puppets... Frosty the Snowman and a policeman with a whistle.  (Remember that from the show?)  What a fun gift to receive!
Pretending to sleep.  I never mind when their play includes pretending to sleep.  :)

During naptime, they helped me turn the tshirt into a pillow for Cainan.  It's pretty horrendous, but it's done and he love it.

1/22/13-  This afternoon, the boys spent their 'rest time' organizing and planning a fancy party, to which I was invited.  Apparently this is how you dress for a fancy party.

They even rolled out a red carpet for me!
Let's get this fancy party started!!

Myka got fancy, too.

Heading up the stairs to the party.
My beautiful Miss.
It was a fun party, until Cainan annoyed Boaz and Boaz couldn't control his anger.  (story of our lives here)  Myka just looks on and smiles.
And then I deal with this.  :)
Ruffle buns.

Kezia jabbering a bit...

*** I've posted 5 or 6 new posts today, so read on for some fun stories and events.  ***

first food, autographs, myka animal sounds

1/18/13- We have got to get out of here.  It's only the middle of January and I already am sick of winter.  Today there was a bit of sunshine, so I bundled up the kids and told them we'd go for a winter bike ride.  Kezia was happy about her fresh air.
Then we got outside and it was too windy and everyone whined and cried... and we turned around two houses from ours to head back inside.   What a bummer.
We ended up coloring instead.
Myka is beginning to talk more and more.  Here's an interview with her about animal sounds.
Cainan is starting to try to draw actual things now.  It's so fun to watch that develop.
Here's the man he drew today.  Luke and I marvel at how all kids start off drawing a head and legs to represent a person.  Then we thought about it and that's really what they see from their low perspective!!

It's a big day for Kezia... she's going to try some food!!  She's pretty excited.

Boaz was excited, too.  He helped Kezia get her bib on.

Not too bad!
The boys put a hat on her today so she could pretend with them.

She likes being included in the action.

This box became a MAGIC BOX today.  It was phenomenal.  Boaz and Cainan put on a pretty amazing show.
Cainan the assistant helps Boaz pull off amazing feats.

I laughed so hard when after the show they had me come to this table to get their 'autographs.'  Yes, the penguin was helping out at the autograph stand.

This was the autograph Boaz gave me.  (him in his magician hat)
Cainan's autograph for me...  This is Boaz, and this is me....
and this is you...
and this is Myka, and....   For being a kid who didn't talk much, he sure is talking a lot these days.  And when he has an idea or something to say, it's usually communicated in really really long sentences.  He's so cute.
And then there's Myka.  Miss Myka playing along at the magic autograph stand.  Love this life and the kids I live it with!!
