2/18- Kezia and Myka wanted to wear hair bows this afternoon. These don't last long, but they're fun for a few minutes!

Boaz's video camera ended up not working too well, so we subbed it out for an old cell phone of Dad's that still works for taking video and pictures. For his presentation in class today, he chose to forgo the assigned topic and show the class his new toy. He was so excited about it!!
He took a video of the kids and 'made them disappear' by pausing the recording and having them move out of the frame.
Then he had fun showing them their disappearing act.
Testing how surface area affects speed. Such fun science experiments! Mrs. Schrage is a phenomenal teacher. We are so grateful for her.
In the arts, we are currently studying famous painters and paintings. Today we tried our hand at making Monet-like pictures using his painting technique... swooshing and smooshing.
It was finally sunny today! And although the temperature wasn't very high, it felt heavenly outside. We just walked around in the driveway for awhile pretending to shovel ice. The boys climbed all the big snow piles.
Kezia just picked up ice chunks and watched them melt in her hand.

Exciting day today! The ants for our ant farm came!! The boys grabbed cameras to document getting them into their habitat.
Ewww...
We poked three little holes in the top to give them an idea of what to do. I figured it'd take them awhile to catch on, but they went right to work!
It is fascinating to watch the ants work. We spent lots of time watching them tonight!
After dinner, Luke took Boaz to a sports night in the dome. Student athletes and coaches set up stations for kids to rotate through and learn various sports skills. Boaz had a blast!!! (as did cousin Brenna below)
Our friend, James, is the women's soccer coach. Think Boaz knows what's going on here?

They sent him home with a goody bag and then Dad took him out for ice cream at McDonalds to finish off the outing. Boaz was beaming when he came home and wouldn't stop talking about what a great night he had. I think he may have even said something like, "This was one of the best nights of my entire life." Love it.
