THE COURT!!

4/11-  It's go time!  We opened up the first pallet to find this... our beautiful new basketball court!!  We were so excited to see the purple and gray!  The company assembled all the tiles in a warehouse and painted on our lines.  Then they disassembled into these 4x4 sheets and packaged it all up.  We're super excited about the tiles, not only because they look cool, but the water drains right through them when it rains, so you can play shortly after and not worry about puddles.  They're also a little better on old man joints like Luke's!  :)
Each piece was numbered and went together like a puzzle.  Luke was supposed to have a manager's meeting in Cedar Rapids this afternoon, but after 4 managers couldn't make it- he decided to cancel and spend the afternoon outside.  We put the boys down for naps and got to work!   Here's row number one going down.

I swept ahead of Luke to get the court cleaned off and laid out some of the sheets for him to fit together.  They snapped together really easily by simply stepping on the seams.  Here comes the Panther!!
Getting closer!  After awhile, I spent time just walking back and forth on the seams to get a good seal.
I wish I'd taken a video of the boys when they came out after naps to find this.  They were so excited!!   We put them to work picking the stickers off the pieces.

Almost there!
The Panther...
Cainan collected stickers on his shirt.
And they attacked each other's backs a bit, too.
After we were finished, Boaz went right out to the middle and started talking to TC.
We moved the boys' little hoop to where the real hoop will be so they could start shooting.  The instructions said that the court would take 2 people 4 hours to assemble.  Instead, it took one guy and a pregnant lady 2 hours to put together!  We were pretty impressed with ourselves.

Then they both spent time hugging TC.
What a perfect spot to relax on a beautiful day!
Our friend, Ross, came over about 4pm and helped Luke start putting up the basketball hoop.  Myka enjoyed exploring the new court today, too.
Cainan did some fancy moves to show off for Ross.
On with the backboard!
Hugs for Myka.  It really is nice to have a place for us to sit outside without her trying to eat the grass!
On goes the net...
And we have a hoop!
We cranked it down low for the boys to shoot a bit.  Cainan can't quite make it, but he'll get there soon.
Shooting hoops with Ross.
Luke had a bunch of friends lined up to come help put the court and hoop together tonight, but we had it all finished before they arrived! They got to have fun instead.
The guys enjoying the new court...  I have a feeling we'll have a lot of fun nights out here!
And Cainan's going to have fun with all the big guys around.  What a fun day!
